Notice Legalization Info (2024)

For legalization, Operation Time for legalization is Monday to Friday 9 am-11 am

The applicant should make an appointment through the below email.

※ An appointment for notarization can be made only by the above email address.

 

Personal appearance on the appointment date is mandatory. Non-appearance cancels the appointment.

Make sure to bring all the required documents for faster and efficient service.


□ Documents required for certificate or Transcript legalization:


1. Filll out the legalization application form(one application form per document, please check the attachment).

- Fill in only blue-colored sections.



2. Documents to be legalized must be original and notarized with the current signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria.


*However, educational documents must be notarized by both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria(signatures must not be older than six months).



3. Applicants who wish to legalize a photocopy of their document must obtain a "Certified True Copy" stamp from the school, organization or High Court, as well as notarization from the Ministry of Education and Foreign Affair(note that photocopies of signatures are not accepted). Additionally, the original documents must be included.



4. For educational documents(certificate or transcript) to be legalized, an ORIGINAL letter of attestation or introduction from the school's registrar or dean is required (meaning that the signature must be original). The letter must state that the applicant was a student of that school and that the certificate belongs to them. In the case of a high school student, a letter from your principal is required.


  • SCANNED OR PRINTED LETTERS ARE NOT CONSIDERED "ORIGINAL"


5. An affidavit from the court stating ownership of the document is also required.

 


6. A photocopy of your international passport data page(a copy of your NIN is acceptable if you do not possess an international passport).



7. The Fee for each document to be legalized is 6,000 naira per document, please bring the exact amount. CASH ONLY.

 


8. The Remita receipt from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(date must match the date on the signatures).



PLEASE DO NOT LAMINATE DOCUMENTS TO BE LEGALIZED


Note: If more than one certificate or transcript is to be legalized, a letter from the most recently attended school must be provided.

One application form per document. Fill in the date on the application form.



IMPORTANT:
IF A REPRESENTATIVE IS SUBMITTING AND COLLECTING DOCUMENTS ON YOUR BEHALF, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PRESENT A SWORN AFFIDAVIT OF AUTHORIZATION PROVIDED BY YOU, ALONG WITH A COPY OF THEIR INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT OR NIN. IN THIS CASE, THE APPLICATION FORM MUST INCLUDE THE INFORMATION OF BOTH THE DOCUMENT OWNER AND THE REPRESENTATIVE(name, date of birth, address, and phone number).



Note: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea reserves the right to cancel appointments in the event of non-working holidays, special notices, or adverse weather conditions. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea will inform applicants accordingly via the contact information provided in the email.
