Notice Legalization Info (2024)

For legalization, Operation Time for legalization is Monday to Friday 9 am-11 am

The applicant should make an appointment through the below email.

※ An appointment for notarization can be made only by the above email address.

 

Personal appearance on the appointment date is mandatory. Non-appearance cancels the appointment.

Make sure to bring all the required documents for faster and efficient service.


□ Documents required for certificates or transcripts legalization:


1. Filled up the legalization application form (one application form per document, check the attachment)

- Fill up only Blue colored section

 


2. Documents to be legalized must be original and notarized with the current signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria.

 


*However educational documents should be notarized with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria. (signatures must not be over 6 months old).

 


3. For applicants who wish to legalize the photocopy of their document, A stamp of a "Certified True Copy" from the school, organization or High Court is needed, as well as the notarization from the Ministry of Education and Foreign Affairs  (note that photocopies of signatures are not accepted). Additionally, the original documents must be included.

 


4. For educational documents (a certificate or a transcript) to be legalized, an ORIGINAL letter of attestation or introduction from the school's registrar or dean (this means that the signature must be original), which states that he or she was once a student of that school and that the certificate is theirs, is needed. In the case of a high school student, a letter from your principal.


  • SCANNED AND PRINTED LETTERS ARE NOT CONSIDERED "ORIGINAL"


5. An affidavit from the court also stating ownership of the document.

 


6. A photocopy of your international passport data page (a copy of your NIN is acceptable in the case that you do not own an international passport).

 


7. The Fee for each document to be legalized is 6000 naira for each, please come with the exact amount.  CASH ONLY

 


8. The Remita from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (date must match that on the signatures)

 


PLEASE DO NOT LAMINATE DOCUMENTS TO BE LEGALIZED


Note: If a certificate or transcript is more than one, then a letter from the most recent school attended should be brought.

NOTE THAT IF A REPRESENTATIVE IS TO SUBMIT AND COLLECT ON YOUR BEHALF, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PRESENT A SWORN AFFIDAVIT OF AUTHORIZATION PROVIDED BY YOU, AS WELL AS A COPY OF THEIR INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT / NIN. IN THIS CASE, THE FORM HAS TO BE FILLED WITH THE INFORMATION OF BOTH THE OWNER OF THE DOCUMENTS AND TEH REPRESENTATIVE (name, date of birth, address and phone number).
